For education and planning only
FinFigured’s calculators, articles and examples are for general education and planning. They aren’t financial, investment, credit, legal or tax advice, and they don’t take your full personal situation into account.
Results are estimates
Every result depends on the numbers you enter and on the assumptions listed on each calculator page. Common assumptions include:
- interest rates stay the same for the whole period;
- every payment is made in full and on time;
- interest is calculated monthly, while many lenders calculate it daily;
- fees, penalties, taxes and promotional terms are not included unless a calculator says so.
Real figures from your lender or provider can differ. Always confirm amounts with them before acting.
Talk to a professional
For decisions about borrowing, debt repayment, investing, retirement or taxes, consider talking to a qualified, licensed professional who can review your situation. In the United States, nonprofit credit counseling agencies can also help with debt plans.
