About FinFigured
Free financial calculators with the math shown, built and reviewed by a financial engineer.
Why FinFigured exists
Most money questions come down to arithmetic that’s easy to get wrong: how long a balance takes to clear, what a loan really costs, how much a little extra each month changes the outcome. FinFigured answers those questions with free calculators that give a clear result first and then show the math behind it.
The goal is simple. You should be able to check every number we give you.
Who builds the calculators
FinFigured is built and maintained by Mohsen Amra. He holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from Islamic Azad University, Qom Branch, and an M.Sc. in Financial Engineering from Islamic Azad University, South Tehran Branch, where he is affiliated with the Department of Industrial Engineering.
His research covers supply chain optimization, fuzzy decision-making, mathematical modeling and financial technology. He has co-authored peer-reviewed articles in journals such as the International Journal of Logistics Research and Applications, the Journal of Cleaner Production and Soft Computing, and has reviewed manuscripts for journals including Finance Research Letters, Expert Systems with Applications, Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence and Soft Computing.
Alongside research, he works as a software developer, mainly in PHP and Python, and has built more than 15 custom WordPress plugins, admin panels and automation tools. That combination is what FinFigured is made of: financial models that are correct, inside tools that are fast and easy to use.

How we build and check each calculator
- Standard formulas. Each calculator uses the textbook method for its problem, such as monthly interest accrual and amortization, and the page explains it with a worked example.
- Tested against known answers. Before a calculator goes live, its engine is checked against closed-form results and edge cases, like a 0% rate or a payment too small to cover the interest.
- Assumptions stated. Every page says what the calculation assumes, for example fixed rates and on-time payments, so you know where your real numbers may differ.
- Dated updates. Each calculator page shows when it was last updated.
Privacy and independence
The calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type are never sent to us or stored anywhere.
FinFigured is free to use and is supported by advertising. Advertisers have no influence over the calculators, the formulas or the results, and we don’t recommend specific lenders or financial products.
FinFigured provides calculators and explanations for education and planning. It isn’t financial, legal or tax advice. For decisions about your own situation, talk to a qualified professional.
